Common questions

The candle doesn't answer my questions

Allow the microphone and speech recognition (iPhone Settings → Spirit Candle), then ask clearly, in English. The candle's voice and its words are English in every language of the app.

I can't hear the candle

Turn up the volume and check that the Ring/Silent switch is not muting your iPhone. The app never raises your volume by itself.

How do I put the candle out?

Blow gently on your iPhone, or tap Put out. The night is saved on your Shelf.

Camera mode doesn't record

Opening Camera mode only previews the effects. Press Record to start filming (this also lights the candle). Allow the camera, and "Add Photos Only" to save videos to Photos.

Is it real?

No. Spirit Candle is an entertainment app: its words, voices, spirit stories and effects are generated by the app. The magnetic-field readout shows real changes measured by your iPhone; the K-II meter in Camera mode also reacts to the app's own effects. Nothing in the app detects ghosts or measures temperature.
